Detailed Product Description
1. Appearance & Construction
This small brass fitting is available in both L-shaped and straight configurations. One end features an internal threaded (FNPT) connection, while the other utilizes a compression connection complete with a nut and ferrule (typically pre-assembled).
2. Core Function
Designed specifically to safely and conveniently connect a household water supply line to the outlet of a pressure relief valve.
3. How It Works
-
FNPT End: Hand-tighten directly into the 3/8-inch outlet of a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) or T&P Valve. The integrated gasket ensures a leak-proof seal at this connection point.
-
Compression End: Insert a 3/8-inch OD copper or PVC discharge tube into this end, then tighten the compression nut. The ferrule deforms to securely grip the tube, creating a strong, reliable seal.
The connected tube - commonly referred to as a "discharge tube" or "drain line" - safely channels the small amount of water released during pressure relief events to a suitable drainage point or outdoor location.
